Infants
For children school Year 1 on wards.
We offer half hourly classes in Ballet, Tap, Work-Out & Technique, Hip Hop/Street, Freestyle, Ballroom, Latin American, Classic Sequence, Modern Stage and Performing Arts. No two children are the same, so we have a unique option of ‘pick and mix’ style classes.
Children can choose any combination of classes to create their perfect timetable. For example, a child may prefer lively styles such as Performing Arts, Hip Hop and Disco, where the next child may prefer Ballet and Ballroom. Our large team of teachers and our eight studios, all under one roof, enables us the offer this unique service.
All our classes are based on the syllabi of the Northern Counties Dance Teachers Association, with the view to the children entering exams in their chosen subjects if they wish to do so. Lessons
Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance, where technique, control, balance, poise, discipline and suppleness are paramount.
Tap
Workout
Work out is COMPULSORY for pupils taking Stage/Jazz, Ballet and Freestyle class. This is due to the demands on the body and the range of movement required for these styles.
Freestyle & Hip Hop
This is a modern dance style. It is a free moving and fun dance which is great exercise. It is energetic and performed to modern pop, hip hop and R&B styles.
Stage/Jazz
‘West End’ and ‘Broadway’ style dance! It is performed to many styles of music such as jazz and musical theatre. Technique and discipline are a must and are applied to the varying themes of this dance style.
Performing Arts
If your child likes singing and dancing on stage our Performing Arts classes are a wonderful option. This class is also useful for speech and confidence.
Ballroom, Latin America & Classical Sequence
These ‘ballroom’ styles give the children the basic understanding of footwork, body movement, poise and elegance.
